I have a 1989 4x4 Jeep Cherokee with the 4.0L 5 speed with 324,000km's, which I'm trying to replace the door hinge pins on at least the front doors. Tried tapping them out but the pins are all seized to hell. Tried putting on some penetrating oil to try to un-seize the rust a little but still achieved nothing. Also we tried drilling the old ones out, which may have been a bad idea, and also achieved nothing. Does anybody know if there is a tool out there that could work for getting old hinge pins out? Or even any advice on how to do this. That would be great too.

Hardest: Completely remove hinges from both door and body, put in bench vice to get better angle/access, lots of penetrating oil and hammer and punch.
Easiest: Consider a trip to your local auto salvage yard and snap up a couple of duplicate hinges from another jeep model if you can. Take old hinge with you for side-by-side comparison. Cheaper than the jeep dealer - I LOVE "Salvage Yards"! They're like a shopping mall for shade-tree mechanics, plus you never know when they'll get you out of bind.
