Air Conditioner Fumes

I have a 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee, auto, 4 wheel drive, 230,000miles. The air conditioner is putting out strange fumes that smell like propane. Also, there are water spots on my floorbaords. A mechanic told me the drain is clogged and the water is not draining properly. Is this something that can cause health problems. Also, catalytic converter was replaced. I have read this could produce an odor also. Any suggestions?

You mechanic is right about the drain. Get a can of computer air and use the straw and insert it into the hole at the bottom of the passenger firewall, under the hood. A bad converter can smell like Sulfer.
