Hi, I have a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo V8 5.2 L 4x4 with 204, xxx miles on it.
My question is when I start it up usually first time of the day ill put it in reverse and it will go sluggishly when I apply gas, I live on a hill so I really have to put my foot down when doing this or it wont go anywhere, the real problem is this hasnt always happened and we recently(maybe a year ago) had the transmission rebuilt. Would a faulty fuel pump cause this?
Also sometimes when put in reverse it will shake violently and kinda surge backwards. No idea whats happening here.
By The Way Im only 16 so I havent had much experience in vehicle repair so some of my questions might sound odd but any answers would be most appreciated.
-thank you very much for your time and support-

Try parking it at an angle and see if the problem happens less. If it only happens after it has sat in the nose down position over night, it can be that not enough tranny fluid is being picked up. It would be better if you can park it with the front of the vehicle facing uphill too. If enough of an angle, your oil could also not be getting picked up until you get straightened out.
If that does not work, find the paper work from the tranny rebuild, and see if it's under warranty still. If it is, take it back.
