I have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Lorado.I just bought it and the air conditioning doesn't turn on. I checked the freon and it is charged fully. The switch on the dash goes on and the fan works but the compressor doesn't go on. I was looking under the hood at the fuse box and all of the fuses seemed to be working. Then I noticed the large fuse that says A/C cluch is missing. Is it necessary to run the A/C? It is on the side closest to the fender of the car, there are 4 fuses on that row.

Yes. That is necessary for the A/C to work properly. Without it, there is no current running to power on and off the clutch for the A/C sytem. Replace it and let me know how the A/C system works then.
