2002 Jeep Cherokee Electric fan

I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The fan will not go on. He has replaced the relay or some call it a module 3 times and it keeps going bad, it is a NAPA part. His suggestion is to put a mechanical fan on it since it was an option for that model(the water pump is set up for it). He tells me the only con is I might lose some horspower, what do you think.

If the relay keeps going bad, there is a chance the fan motor is going bad and drawing too much power. As far as the other option, I recommend staying with how it was manufactured.
