2002 Jeep Cherokee diagnostic code P0122M

Can I drive the car with engine light on (with the diagosis as given. Position of pedal censor.) And for how long before I have serious problem. My mechainic is closed until 9/07/2010.

Is this something I can fix on my own? HELP

Sounds like the throttle position sensor, and it can be replaced fairly easily. They are located on the throttlebody. Once you replace, just have a parts store clear the codes.
