What would cause the oil pressure gauge to fluctuate between normal and hot in a 2002 jeep cherokee? When you turn on the heat verses the ac the gage moves back to the normal range. The temp. gauge and fan have all ready been replaced. Any ideas?

you shouldnt have much of a fluctuation on the guage its self when you switch from ac to heat, but there will be a slight raise in oil pressure when you turn on the ac. the vehicle increases idle slightly to be able to run the ac compressor without lowering idle rpms, therefore increasing engine oil pressure.
