Under the hood on the firewall (passanger side) check for a rubber hose pointing down and attached to nothing on one end. Move it around to see if it is plugged at the end. That is where dirt builds up and causes problems.

What the other guy said sounds right could also be a heater core gone bad, if the water in the car is coolant, should be able to smell the coolant if so
