Check engine light and airbag light both came on?

These two error light may or may not be related.
First step would be to get the vehicle scanned for codes. That will point us to the right direction.
Check engine light can come on due to various reasons.
It usually some type of electrical sensor that has malfunctioned. Sometimes it can come on for a vacuum leak or a emission related issue like oxygen sensor malfunction.
