I was having other codes come up, misfires on specific cylinders. Mainly 6 then it cleared and went to cylinder 4. I replaced the coil pack and that did not clear it so I put the old one back on. Then I changed the cam shaft position sensor and the same thing. Reinstalled the old one again. Now I have changed the crank shaft position sensor and it won't stay running. I am getting the 353 code. I tried readjusting the position of the sensor. I had a 351,353, and 1391 codes. Readjusted it in as far as I could and now only have the 353 code. What else can I do?

First of all thank you so much for your donation. What model Cherokee do you have? What engine size do you have? Are you sure you have a code P0353?I can't seem to find that code listed for your Cherokee.

1999 Grand Cherokee Limited
4.0L 6Cyl

I found the codes at www. Wjjeeps. Com/faultcodes. Htm

I have the 1391 code back as well as the 0353 code.

0353-Ignition Coil C Primary/Secondary Circuit-Peak primary curcuit current not achieved with maximum dwell time (high impedance)

1391- Intermitent loss of CMP or CKP- Loss of Cam Posistion Sensor's signal or Crank Position Sensor has occurred. For PL 2.0L

Those are the descriptions from the above website. I hope this helps.

I saw the code P0353 on the website you sent me the link on.But it isn't list in the list of code's on mitchell ondemand that we use to help people repair there car's.I posted a screen shot showing it's not in the list for your car.I also posted a trouble tree for code P1391 since you said since the car doesn't run since you replaced the crank sensor. So i would like to start there so we can get it running and clear code's and see if any other code's come back.I also posted the crank sensor replacement procedure please review that and make sure you followed that procedure when you replaced it.Also it says for your car to make sure the new sensor has the paper spacer attached so i would check that to make sure you have the proper clearance. If we get that code Po353 back after we fix the p1391 then we will cross that bridge when we come to it.But i feel we need to fix the crank sensor code first so it will at least run then who knows we might just have it fixed..Let me know what you find.
