I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited w/115k miles and my husband is a mechanic but he doesn't know alot about jeeps, my jeep will sometimes only start when I hold my foot on the gas and I have to continue to hold my foot on the gas to drive down the road, stop lights and stop signs! It will not idle, my husband said it could be alot of things but I just wanted to see if anyone else had the problem and how to fix it. Please help!

Usually a jeep likes to idle at anywhere between 750 to 1000 rpms per minute if its too low the engine will cut off

Its not the idle, my jeep will run just fine but sometimes I can't let my foot off the gas because it will die, I have to continue to have my foot on the gas even to brake, its doesn't happen all of the time, just sometimes. My husband already checked the idle. It started doing this a couple of months ago it would only die when I would turn the steering wheel and go in reverse, now it just happens alot of the time while I am just driving without going in reverse or truning the will. Its very frustrating, thanks for the advice though!
