My friend put a stereo in the car and things started going wrong. First my altenator went out and I got that fixed. SOmetimes when I turn the jeep on it doesnt turn on it makes a very light buzz. SOmetimes when I turn the jeep on it doesnt turn on it makes a very light buzz. At this point a turn the key and shift into neutral and it turns on. It seems like my battery is dying. I got the stereo professionally re wired yesterday and this morning when I started the car it sounded like it wanted to turn on but it just didnt have enough juice. I got the car jumped and had to shift into neutral and turn the key and it started I put it in park and let it charge while its getting jumped. I turn the car off and turn the key again and it starts normally. Please help me I really need my car. Ft into neutral and it turns on. It seems like my battery is dying. If it only starts in neutral, chances are the neutral safety switch is bad. It's located on the transmission. I would replace that and see if it fixed the problem.

Check the battery terminals & cables. My 99 cher was duing some funny things(hard to start, low charging amps, head lights pulsing while turned on, battery not charging). Alt. Checked out okay at Adv. Auto parts. I cleaned the terminals & cables and found positve terminal loose(two cables clamp together on the positive terminal, this was loose). Cleaned and tightened. Problem fixed. Did your friend disconnect the batt. Before installing the stereo? Friend my have blown a fuse some where.
