My rear u-joint failed ( trans to drive shaft) the yokes on both drive shaft and trans tail piece are chewed up. I need to replace drive shaft, looking for one from scrap yard. They need/ ask which rear end is in the Cherokee. How do I tell?
Chrysler star is on rear end unit, but spicer name is stamped on drive shaft and trans. Tail piece / yoke

Spicer is a third member type so if your diff has nuts and bolts on the side to shaft/tranny it's a spicer
If the bolts are on the back it is aC type ie Chry
Hope this helps
