MY 1996 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED 4 X 4, 170,000 MILES, 318 MOTOR WONT START. I JUST FILLED THE GAS TANK. I DROVE IT APPROX. 15-20 MILES AND SHUT IT OFF. GOT IN ABOUT 20 MIN LATER AND IT STARTED AND DIED 20 SECONDS LATER. NOW IT WILL CRANK BUT WONT START. THE FUEL GUAGE READS COMPLETELY EMPTY AND THE FUEL LIGHT IS ON. COULD IT BE THE FUEL PUMP? PLEASE HELP!

Yes it probably is, check the relay, fuse and the connector, it may be loose try having someone keep turning the key on and you wiggle the connector and see if it turns on and off if it does replace the connector!

If thats not it check for voltage at the connector if all is good then change the pump, but if no voltage then check the things mentioned above, the relay switch and fuse.
