1996 Jeep Cherokee water pump

We have successfully replaced the water pum and all hoses conected. No more leaks. The engine heat light still came on. May that me the thermostat or is it possible that air is trapped. If so, is there a screw where the air can be let out?

If you squeeze lower hose you can work out most of the air and then fill radiator and the over flow tank and put caps on run engine let it cool and check th over flow fill as needed may take a few times but it will work the air out
