1996 Jeep Cherokee starting issues

At every start the accelerator must be held down for approx 5-10 seconds to prevent a stall. After that it runs fine. Can you help?

Welcome to the site, maybe an idle air issue? I'd take the throttle-body off, give it a good cleaning, make sure passages are clear. Remove any sensors before cleaning. Is fuel pressure ok?
