What is the difference between 6 cy motors in a 1996 /1997 Jeep Cherokee and a Jeep "Grand"Cherokee.I'm told they will not fit into each other?

THat is a good question. They have used the 4.0L since 1987. The only difference could be the intake and exhause manifolds will need changed and sensors will need switched. My only concern is if there has been a place for a sensor that is new or no longer exist. I don't have access to cross reference information. Try this. Call a salvage yard and see what they say. They should have the cross reference info we need.
