I have 1994 Jeep Cherokee, 4wd and a few weeks ago I was driving and it just cut off, like it was not getting fuel. When I was able to get it started again, the same thing happened several times in a row (like 6 times. I didnt have the problem for about 2 more months, now all of a sudden, same thing. It cut off while running and wont re-start until after it has set for a long period of time. Could a bad Catalytic Converter cause this to happen? Thanks Julia

Julia:
A converter will cause a loss of power and can cause the engine to die, but not how you described it. My first guess is the fuel pump, but I need to know if the check engine light came on before having you check the pump.
