Engine Mechanical problem
1993 Jeep Cherokee 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I just bought a Jeep about a month and a half ago. I have done an oil change, replaced the whole exhaust system, replaced spark plugs, and has a new battery. Now one thing I am noticing that the oil pressure is reading around 80. I have checked the dip stick and it is in between the full and add lines. Do I need to worry and what do I need to do?

What do I need to do? That oil pressure is too high could be the oil pump pressure relief valve sticking or sludge problem.

What kind of oil filter did you put on it, I've heard from others that for some odd reason fram filters will give pressure readings like that on these jeeps. I had the same problem with mine untill I changed the oil and used a mopar filter instead of the fram and it's reading normal now. I'm not an expert mind you now, just thought I'd share what little experience I had with the same problem, lol.

What I need to know is what kind of filter are you using and what you will need to do is run some engine flush (follow the directions on bottle) and put a K&N filter or mopar filter if pressure is still to high then you need to replase the oil pressure sending unit
