my car won't start and I do not know where the battery is located. All the lights and guages come on inside but I need to charge the battery or replace it if I need to. But I need to find it first so I can check. Also, how do I connect jumper cables to it.

Your battery is in the trunk adjacent to the spare wheel. But your symptoms may indicate a faulty neutral safety switch. I have a 1997 XK 8 - lovely to look at but a load of trouble!
