1984 Jaguar XJS Transmission

I have a 1984 Jaguar XJS V12 and when I first start my car in the morning, I can not get the car into reverse until it seams to warm up. It will go right into drive and then after I drive for a while it clears up and works perfect. If I put it in reverse I can sit there and rev the engine until it jumps into reverse.

What could cause this and does the tranny need rebuilt?

Hi there,

There can be a few reasons why this can happen, I would first have the transmission serviced & get the line pressures tested, this will give a fair indication as to the state of the transmission.
