Hello, I have a 1990 jaguar xj6 with a 4.0 motor; 103,000 miles. A few weeks ago I noticed that after it would rain it wouldn't start then the next day it would start like nothing was wrong. After a while it wouldn't start at all. I have changed the distributor cap, rotor, coil, ignition module { under the coil} and it still won't start- in fact, it isn't even getting any spark, even starting fluid won't get it going. Could you tell me what the problem is? Some say it may be the crank sensor but I wanted a professional word on it. Thanks in advance.

Yet again this seems a classic case of the ECU getting Damp or wet you will normally see signs of this on the plugs or pins of the ECU check both if you are lucky if you clean and leave unplugged for 20 mins it might reset but normally it a new ecu. If you wish plug a orb11 reader in socket and get fault code if it is p1621 this is ECU code if ERR is shown It is also signs it is the ECU Good luck Come back for more INFo if required
