1995 Jaguar XJ6 oil filter blowout

Old filter blowout, so repalced w/ new, did the same twice. Oil everywhere. I, m thinking pressure relief valve in oil pump. If so, you think I should replace the whole pump. Is there any easier way to get the oil pump out w/o practically pulling engine?

Hi there,

this sound like a relief valve issue, to access the pump the engine has to be removed the relief valve is integral with the pump see pic. I would still have the oil pressure tested first just o see what it is reading.
