1993 Jaguar XJ6 radio stops playing

once I entered the radio code in the display the radio
begins to play for about two minutes and then it
cuts itself off. I repeat the process and the
radio goes off again.

what is the problem? Please help.

After you have entered the code and the radio is playing, manually turn the radio off. Wait a minuete or two and turn the radio back on. If the radio comes back on and plays THEN shuts off, it's a problem in the radio.
