I have a problem with gas running out of the exhaust manifold. I have checked the injectors and they all seem to be in order. I have also changed out the fuel pressure regulator valve. There doesn't seem to be a hose leak that I could find. The engine starts and runs smooth but gas runs right out the exhaust manifold where the exhaust connects. It has also run down into the tail pipe and you can imagine what kind of smoking it does. I know I could start a fire and need help bad. Thanks for letting me ask my question and would appreciate any help you can give.

Jerry, are you sure it's gas and not coolant? Fuel should burn up in the manifold long before it runs out. Please advise.

I just checked the coolent and it wasn't low at all. It smells like old gas. I bought this car from a person in New York that misrepresented it something awful. It had been sitting up for a long spell and I'm thinking that is the old gas I'm smelling. Hope that helps.

Ok, if anything else comes up, you know where to find us. One thing I might mention, not knowing if you've ever owned a Jag before, is getting a good service and repair manual. I have an '88 XJ6 and without my books, I'd be lost. Especially when it comes to the wiring.
