Hello,
I picked my Car from the dealer today they fixed 3 oil leaks, total $1300. They also informed me that my ABS/Traction control module will need to be replaced in the near future. The warning light goes on infrequently every few months for a few seconds. The dealer cost quote to replace this unit is $2700 parts plus labor. Can I possibly buy a rebuilt one and have a local repair place that specializes in Jags replace it for a fraction of the cost? Also, my front passenger seatbelt wont retract the dealer said the whole unit has to be replaced for $420? I dont have a warranty. Appreciate your advice.

Hello .. thanks for the donation ... much appreciated

I am sure an independant specialist will be able to repair/replace your ABS/TRAC module for less, they will have a direct source of cheaper parts .. you are better to ring them direct for a quote ...they should also be able to quote for the seatbelt repair, I'm afraid it will need replacing as a unit ..but, the specialist may have come across the fault before and be able to repair quite easily !! hope this helps.
