2002 Jaguar S-Type 6 cyl Automatic 55000 miles

My Jaguar 2002 S type with 55000 miles- always serviced from Jaguar dealer- giving me couple of following problems:
1- every now and then when I try to start it, it does not crank. Some times it will take couple of tries and some times several tries but it will crank and runs just fine afterward. Took it to dealer, he could not find any problem b/c he says that it stated just fine and every thing checked out. After that for a month or so I did not have this problem, but it is back now.
2- since this starting problem came back, when it starts, after that car jerks and RMP needle waves a little when it jerks. Pls note that it only jerks when I stope and it does not jerk while it is moving. Car runs just fine.
Please help. I have no knowledge about cars and this time when I am gonna bring this car to the dealer, I want to tell them exactly what they should look for based upon help from you guys. Every response/help would be appreciated.

First you need to clarify one thing; when you say it "does not crank" that means it will not turn over. If that is the case, you have 2 different problems.

You have a no "crank" issue and a rough run after start-up and at stop lights.

Please clarify if I am understanding you correctly.

Yes, I think you understood correctly. I have two issues:
1- it does not crank. Lights on the dash comes on and its electorincs funcitions (windows, radio, lights etc.) Works fine but it does not turn over.
2- once it starts, it jerks when I push brakes at light but runs just fine

So when the no crank happens:
-Does it click or make any attempt to engage the starter?
-How do you get it to finally engage?
-Does it turn over normally or struggle?
-Does the red LED (PATS light) come on steady then prove out after a few seconds?
-Or does it flash rapidly? If it flashes rapidly, try any additional keys and see what it does.

As far as the "jerking" at stop signs. Sounds like a possible misfire which is most likely being caused by a weak ignition coil or vacuum leak.

This MY S-type is inherently difficult to flag diagnostic trouble codes and a check engine light.
