OK I have found a salvage part I can afford 4 seasons blower motor. Is this an installation a relative novice can make or do I need to pay the shop to do it? If so what is the procedure for installing a new blower motor on the 2002 Trooper?

It's under passenger side dash. Just remove the knee bolster trim on passenger side then you can access the blower motor. Disconnect battery, disconnect blower motor electrical connector, remove attaching screws and assembly will come out.
