I have always had a tapping in the front right side of the engine and recently its gotten alot worse like a very loud rapping but engine doesnt miss no shavings in the oil pan or on dipstick, question is could this possibly be the timing belt tensioner causing the belt to slap, it sounds like a loud slapping from the cover but does not decrease as rpm goes up?

I have a 94 trooper and when I bought it there was a slight noise from the timing belt cover area. So I replaced the timing belt, timing belt tensioner. And the noise went away. If you dont have any records of the timing belt being replaced in the last 50k you should replace it, if the timing belt snaps then you're gonna have a huge problem, but this motor is also prone to valve and/or lifter noise that sounds very similar.
