Electrical problem
1994 Isuzu Trooper 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual

I have a 1994 Tooper. I just replaced my Stereo unit with a Kenwood HD454U. I'm using a Metra 70-1782 adapter to match the Kenwood to my factory harness. The stereo works fine. But, now my dash lights don't work. Specifically, they don't light at all. There doesn't seem to be any place to hook up the wires that light the dash (illumination) or the brightness controller (dimmer). I can light the dash lights, if I run a loop to the constant on, but then they won't ever turn off. I can't get the dimmer to control anything. Is there a way to bypass the radio and light (and control the brightness) of the dash?

From what I can see it looks like the wiring connects through the radio.Try connecting the 2 wires for illumination Red/Green and Green/Red (see pic)together to see if it will work.Use a fuse to connect them so it wont hurt anything. Also check fuse C-13, it is for interior illumination for the instruments

Thanks for your help. It was the fuse in C13. I could swear I checked that already. But, when I replaced it, the dash lights started working properly.

I'll avoid crossing the wires again. Thanks. Again
