1999 Isuzu Rodeo Question Idle Flutters at slow speeds

Wondering if you can help. My '99 Isuzu has recently developed a problem. When the engine warms up, and I am in process of decelerating (i.E. Press clutch in) the idle sometimes drops to 100RPM, occassionally flutters erratically between 100RPM and 1000 RPM, and on two occassions has stalled. No hard engine codes are given. I've had the throttel body cleaned and have added cleaner to the fuel for the injectors - still happens occassionally (I wish it was constant). Any thoughts? Thanks.

Hi suzie99,

If the problem only happens while the clutch is depressed, then it might be a worn crankshaft thrust bearing but then your mileage is too low for that to sound possible.

Check the valve clearances to see if it helps.
