Exhaust been worked on. Catalytic convertor replaced and whenmuffler replaced. When driven convertor burns cherry red and it makes noise and smells bad

Hi there,

You may have a faulty injector as excess fuel in the exhaust(very rich mixture ) can cause this, also check that the spark plugs are ok as a plug with an excessive gap can also cause unburnt fuel into the exhaust.

Its sounding like a really bad wiring issue with these money pit rodeo s and all these shops got enough donations from us that we cant give to this web sight to keep this going if I did nt have my brother of almost 30 year at shop and is a manager for most of them and a uncle retired from a motor rebuild shop of 35 years and the tranny shop s that they no people at I would be coming unglued about the bs I have gone thru in the last two since I got this rodeo pile of crap I have replaced more than I ever had to do to a vehicle in my life and I restoered a 1964 chevelle that got done from ground up I might not be a certified mecanic but ill tell you one thig watch what they are telling you I have done sensors alt, coil pack plugs and wires to crank sensors you name it tranny shop for the third time and my time all weekend with computer for engine and tranny twice thats what tranny shop told so I do have the money pit show floor readyto sit and rust awy but the electrical will all be new ask when they tell you this next 2 or 4 or 5 hundred dallors you put in it say what if its not it you buying the part back that you did not need
