1996 Isuzu Rodeo Question anti freeeze leak from back of eng

Engine is leaking anti freeze from back of engine. The mechanic and I both thought it was a bad freeze plug but after he got the transmission out it turns out that there are no freeze plugs on the back of the engine. The leak seams to be coming from a small hole that appearently belongs there but he doesn't know why or what is for. Does any body know what it is?

I am not sure what hole you are describing. Can you upload a picture of the area and the leaking point?

Is the antifreeze coming from on top of the head at the
back of the engine?
