89 Isuzu clutch

I have an 89 isuzu troper 4cyl. My clutch is giving me problems. It is very difficult to shift, I an't even get into first gear, but when the car is off I can shift fine. I heard it might be the clutch master cyl. Is this true?

Try pumping the clutch like the it is a brake pedal. If you can shift, replace the master and the slave. I always replace in pairs.

If that doesn't work you need a new clutch.
