Hi kirstybergy,
Thank you for the donation
The problem you are facing should be the idliong speed is too low and the idle booster is not compensating when AC is turned on.
You have just replaced the battery and when power is disconnected, the engine computer (ECM/PCM) memory has been erased and you need to let it relearn before it can work efficiently.
1. Start engine and let it warm up with no load till operating temp is achieved, eg, lights, AC etc all OFF
2. Turn on AC and let it idle till the speed is stable and you shold be ready.
If the above does not help, then you might need to clean the throttle body and Idlie Air Control. Clogging of air passages would reduce air flow and cause the idling spped to be low and stalling.
