I am trying to replace both the inner and outer tie rod on one side as they are making noise. Cannot find the right part no matter what. I found the outer tie rod at a local store and matched it with mine. Inner tie rod long part that screws into outer is not a problem, the thread size of the part that goes into rack and pinion is an issue. I first ordered one on Amazon, turned out its so much thinner, went to O'Reilly, they had 3 different kinds, none fit, went to advance they didn't have it. Went to AutoZone they had to special order it also was small, it just goes in freely. Here is my VIN, it's a SE, 2wd, and am looking for the front passenger, not sure why I get so many options out there. Anything with the black threads on the outside is definitely thinner, I just tried one with the silver threads and it was also thinner. Advance had one that was actually thicker, but I think those are maybe for 6.2l.

Here is the part number we show for the inner tie rod end:

Inner Tie Rod 68158377AA 128.00 Includes: Tie Rod Boot.

Here are the instructions on how to change the inner tie rod end out in case you need it.
Check out the images (below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
