There is a clicking noise when turning right, could it be the CV joint?

The front driver's side makes a clicking noise when I turn right. Well, yesterday it made it then a hard clunk and felt like tire would break off. So, we backed it onto a trailer and put it in gear. It clunked loudly then just spun the front axle. It will move in 4-wheel drive though.

Hi,

It sounds like one of the CV joints has broken. Most likely, it's the front left. Check to see if you can move it while the vehicle is parked, and the parking brake is engaged. Note: If this isn't in 4wd, the vehicle will move even in park, so make sure to use the brake.

Also, if you find the CV axle is broken, here is a link that explains how in general one is replaced:

Let me know what you find.

Take care,
