I trying to repair a rust hole and can not afford to get it welded. I have grinded down must of rust on out side of hole but there considerable amount inside hole. Is it ok to use resin body filler after using rustoleum rust reformer converter to remove rust.

I do not see any rust after use of rust converter. There is just complete black area where rust was. I want it use resin filler with resin cloth to reshape and fill whole. Is that an option?

If you neutralized all the rust and grind it down to fresh metal, then you can use fiberglass, but it is going to need to have something there to build the structure off of.

If this truck is going to be for your use, then it's fine to use anything you want but if you have plans to unload this thing then doing this type of repair should be disclosed when you sell it.

Unfortunately, there are people in this world that use metal screen to fill holes and then they mud over them and sell the vehicle as if that was not done. This is not right to do as these repairs do not hold up for more than a few years.

However, if you are going to the extent of filling with this fiber you may be able to rent or buy a mic welder for less than a $100.00. Then you can get a small piece of metal from Home Depot and shape to get it close and then fill it with body filler.

Let me know if you have questions on this. Thanks
