Questionable mileage on a car we are considering purchasing

We are looking at a 2009 Toyota Yaris S that has only 1,280 miles on it at a dealership and thinking about purchasing it. When we look at the Carfax report it has 12 service histories and I found that alarming since it has such low miles. We looked at the odometer and it says 1,280 miles but why so many oil changes and why would the battery have to be replaced at 755 miles. Should I be concerned?

Was the mileage on the Carfax reports?

It is against the law for a dealer to sell a car with wrong or altered miles. They will not risk losing their business over one car.

The car may have sat for a long time. That would explain the battery and the constant oil changes.

Yes, the mileage is on the car fax report. Oh okay. So if it sits a while you have to do oil changes. Got it.
