How do I get the invalid key code taking off. I have the factory key for the truck. I rebuild the engine and that coded came up. I do have a scanner tool that can reprogram keys. The scanner I have is LAUNCH OBD2 Scanner CRP909X. How do I go about using it the reset the code.

Hi:
As far as the issue, it should have set a B1A25 code. It could need programmed, but that shouldn't be the case. Do you have a spare key to try? When you replaced the engine, could there have been grounds damaged or anything left disconnected?

Here is what I suggest. I attached the diagnostics below for the aforementioned codes. Part of the diagnostics includes reprogramming the key/skreem. I am not familiar with the scan tool you have, but pics 7 and 8 are the procedure for reprogramming the skreem. The last pic explains how to program a key.

I hope this helps. Let me know.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

Wow! That is a long list. Does anything listed work correctly? Based on what I see, I question if the key is the issue. Have you checked connectors at different modules? For example, the body control module.

Let me know.

Interestingly, there are so many, I'm not sure where to start. I can't be certain, but it appears the PCM may have failed.
