Instrument panel and radio will not light up

When I crank the car lights on dash it lights up then goes off .Dash and radio has no lights. Steering wheel does . I turn dimmer switch up and down only thing that works is steering lights. check fuses several times and I checked bulbs in dash.

Hi,

First, confirm fuse 16 is good in the instrument panel fuse box. See pics 1 and 2. In addition to checking the fuse, make sure there is power to it. Here is a link you may find helpful:

Next, check the main ground behind the left kick panel. There should be several wires going to the same ground and all are black wires. Note, there is a splice in that circuit, so make sure the splice is good as well.

Pic 3 shows the location of the fuse in the vehicle fuse box.
