(Speedometer, mileage, gas). Radio power goes out, windows don't work. A/C stays on.
It's an F150 not Courier also.

Hi,

When this happens, does it turn back on right away?

I looked through wiring schematics and found what may be the issue. Both the radio and instrument panel are powered by fuse 1 in the central junction box. If the components start working again, we know the fuse didn't fail. However, there is a splice between the fuse and the two items.

According to the schematic, there will be a pink wire with a blue tracer located near the breakout for the cigarette lighter. I have a feeling that splice is bad and losing connection. Note that power to fuse 1 is provided via the ignition switch, but that is an unlikely cause. I feel other things would also be affected.

Take a look below at the schematic and let me know your thoughts. This is likely what I would check first.

Let me know.

Joe
