Can you please show on a diagram where the input speed sensor is on the truck listed above 1500?

Hello BBALFOUR,

The Input Speed Sensor (ISS) is located inside the transmission, attached to the rear side of the pump cover. I have added a diagram for you.

Unfortunately, the transmission will need to be removed as well as the torque convertor. It looks like the sensor is on the back side of pump so it will need to be removed also. They started doing this in I believe 2004. Before that I believe it was just on the side of the transmission.

The input shaft has teeth on it that this sensor picks up and sends to the computer. However, the input shaft reluctor wheel is made out of a soft, composite material and is easily damaged.

Here is a video on how to replace the transmission:

Thank you,
Brendon
