I'm trying to do an injector cleaning. I've taken the top cover off and found the direct drive pump. I've also taken off the fuel line coming from tank. Can I hook up my kit to this port? Also how do I block return line and where is the fuel pump fuse?

I see you noted that you have the 4 cylinder engine. Is that the 2.4L with the GDI fuel system? If it is then you should not attempt to perform an injector cleaning on this vehicle because it is a high pressure fuel system. You can use a tank additive that will clean the entire fuel system and injectors but it is not wise to run a cleaner straight through the rail to the injectors on high pressure fuel systems.

Basically it can blow the line off and the high pressure fuel can damage things or yourself.

If you do not have the GDI system, let me know what engine you have and maybe get some pictures of what you are dealing with so that we can figure out the best way to do this because Kia does not have a process for this in the manual.

Thanks

Sounds great. I have had pretty good success with this brand. Clearly I don't recommend them for any other reason then I have experience using it so I would just look for something specific to GDI engines and something that guards against deposits as this is the main concern with GDI engines.

Let me know if you have other questions. Thanks for using 2CarPros.
