Hey carpros - hoping you can provide a little guidance and advice. The car will not go into drive (4th) at startup. It will engage in any lower gear and after warmup go into drive, but slips occassionaly while in drive. Also, recently the speedometer has stopped working intermittently while driving. When it does this there is a momentary loss of power steering. My initial thought is vehicle speed sensor, but sense this is a $250 part, thought I would ask the experts.

Fluid level is fine; I have not changed fluid/filter.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks

***EDIT*** Here's a little more information: Found transmission fluid all over a set of wire connection at the rear of the transmission around the area of the drive shaft. I assume this is the PCM? Could this leak be affecting those connections and thereby causing my problems?

If the leak is at wires near the axle, it could be th eVSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) which could make the speedo come and go like you describe. Start with a service as well using Nissan trans fluid, not universal ATF.
