Transmission Issue in 2001 G20T (Infiniti)

I have a 2001 Infiniti G20 T with about 66,000 miles on it. A few months ago I started experiencing acceleration problems. When I start up the car I press on the accelerator and the pedal is almost floored and the car barely moves forward (very sluggish). However most of the time if I shut off the car and start it again it fixes the problem. When driving at 50mph plus the tac sometimes drops suddenly and then revs when I hit the gas with no increase in speed almost as if the car were in neutral. I took the car to the overpriced infiniti dealership because the transmission and other parts were under warranty and they claimed they couldn't find anything wrong. Any suggestions? Do I need a new transmission?

The car is an automatic. The problem is almost like as if the car was cold and not heating up and it doesnt shift properly. However its completely warmed and this issue still occurs so therefor I am led to believe it is a transmission issue. I replaced the transmission fluid and had it serviced and they found no problem with it.

Sounds electrical.A sensor or switch. Ur local dealer sounds funny. Take it else where document everything and go back to the dealer to proof ur case.A running car with less money in ur pocket still beats a giant paper weight
