2001 Infiniti I30 catalytic converter

I was told by my mechanic that my catalytic converter and o2 sensors have to be replaced. The cost of the repairs are around $700. Does this amount sound correct? And how long can I go before changing them? Is it worth the change or should I trade the car in?

Hi there,

Depending on where he byes the converter from will set the price, I am sure there are cheaper options around, a few phone calls will tell you, if the cat and O2 sensor are faulty, fuel economy will suffer so it will be wise to have it attended to asap.
