Recently, my climate control system only produces air conditioning. Example: outside temp is 55, I set the thermostat on the dash (AUTO setting) at 75. After a half hour of driving, still getting air conditioning. Set to the ECON setting, I get ambient temperature. If I crank it up to 82 on AUTO, I'll get warm air for a few moments, then back to A/C. Called the local dealer, he said it sounds like $750 plus to fix it. Any suggestions on what it might be and possible lower cost solutions?

Hi
Run the self diagostnic tests key on press hold AC off button for at least 5 sec. See on screen go into self-diagnostic test 1. There are 5 tests move between tests by rotating TEMP knob. Record any findings and post will advise.

Tried and didn't work. Let me see if I get it right. Question: First, should ignition be on or engine idling when doing the diagnostic? Second - push "OFF" button for 5 or more seconds - then screen should come alive with tests? Let me know if this is correct and I'll try again and send responses. Thanks for your help.

Turned temp dial to 3

Message: the number 3 shows, there is whirring sound, after about 45 seconds the number O shows next to 3.

Turned temp dial to 4
Message: the number 41 shows along with a blowing sound

Turned dial to 5

message: the number 51 with no sound
