1999 Infiniti I30 Changing the struts

I have a reasonable amount of experience twisting a wrench and a pretty good selection of tools. What do I need to know about changing the struts on this car, other than the need for the spring compression tool? Your help and advice are greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the donation

To remove the strut assembly on your I30, perform the following.

REMOVAL:
Support transverse link to remove tension from strut mount nuts and bolts.
Remove upper and lower strut mount nuts and bolts.
Do NOT remove pistion rod lock nut at this time.
Remove strut assembly.

DISASSEMBLY:
Clamp strut in vise, using Vise Attachment (ST35652000). Loosen, but DO NOT remove, piston rod lock nut.
Compress coil spring with Spring Compressor (HT71780000).
Remove piston rod lock nut.
Remove coil spring.

REASSEMBLY:
Be careful to install spring correctly. Top end is flat.
Install upper spring seat with notch facing outer side of vehicle.
Install piston rod lock nut and tighten to 44 - 55 Ft. Lbs. (59 - 74 Nm)

INSTALLATION:
To install, reverse removal pocedure.
