2004 Infiniti G35 can I use 87 octane gas without damaging

I have not purchased the car yet. Car is an all wheel drive sedan. I do not know if the vehicle has a knock sensor and/or other electronics that willl adjust timing for different octane ratings. If I can't use lower octane gas I probably wont buy the car. Please advise.

My father has been selling Infiniti's for a while, when asked the question since all wheel drive X model, the manufacturar prefers high octane gas, but if you want to use a less octance go ahead but every other fill up would recommend either 93 or mid grad.

You can use 87 all the time if you like, the knock sensor will restrain your engine from performing optimally though.
